Griggs Center honored for outstanding student engagement
This past weekend, the Griggs Center received an award for Outstanding Student Engagement and Leadership at the annual conference of the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers, or GCEC. The award honors a center that “amplifies their impact by achieving high levels of student engagement and student leadership in its entrepreneurship programs”. Other finalists for the award were Georgetown University Entrepreneurship Initiative and University of Michigan Center for Entrepreneurship.
“We appreciate the recognition of our approach to involving students as key team members in all of our programs,” said Jim Litton, Director of the Griggs Center. “The award is also a recognition of the success our students have experienced in helping to grow entrepreneurship on-campus through programs such as CEO and Wildcat Ventures.”
The GCEC is the premier academic organization addressing the emerging topics of importance to the nation’s university-based centers for entrepreneurship. It has become the vehicle by which the top, established entrepreneurship centers, as well as emerging centers, can work together to share best practices, develop programs and initiatives, and collaborate and assist each other in advancing, strengthening, and celebrating the role of universities in teaching the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
