Visit Silicon Valley with the Griggs Center!
Ever dreamed of rubbing shoulders with startup executives and chatting with directors at some of Silicon Valley’s most influential companies?
Sign up for the Griggs Center’s trip to Silicon Valley, taking place November 1-6!
Last year, Dr. Jim Litton took fourteen students on the trip. This year, we will be visiting Google, LinkedIn, Zapier, and Tilt, on the technology side. There is also a visit to Moniker, a San Francisco-based design studio that has worked with firms ranging from Coca-Cola to the Dallas Cowboys.
For the finance-minded, the agenda includes time with Sequoia Capital and Silicon Valley Bank, a venture capital firm and commercial bank, respectively.
The trip is a wonderful opportunity to dive into the culture of Silicon Valley and learn about a wide variety of different companies. You can learn what interests you as a possible future career, as well as network with some of the area’s leading entrepreneurs and decision makers.
You’ll get to see how what you’re learning in the classroom is applied in real life situations, whether that’s at a startup or at an established company.
To bring you up to speed if you aren’t up on the latest about Silicon Valley, it’s located in the southern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. Roughly 40 companies on the Fortune 1,000 list have headquarters there, and it employs a quarter-million people in the Information Technology field.
The program fee for this trip is $799, not including airfare.
